Space Planning and Optimization

Retailers are facing the challenge of the contraction of available merchandising space within the physical constraints of their stores. This contraction is being driven by the inclusion of experiential areas as well as the necessity to allocate space to accommodate BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store). While traditional benchmarking based on square footage has been the norm, the evolving retail landscape necessitates a shift towards incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs) per linear foot. Many Retailers, however, struggle to generate and maintain accurate linear foot information for each location due to the complexity of the task.
